TOPIC: "Social Media at Work: Is Your Corporate Policy Clear?" The event was hosted by law firm SORAINEN and initiated a very active discussion on the most actual topic nowadays - SOCIAL MEDIA. All participants found the fact of sudden expansion of the influence of Social Media on the society recently and had a lot of questions regarding using it for work-related purposed and control instruments that could be wisely used to direct comments and discussions the right way.

Annual USA Independence Day Celebration 2010 sets the participation record in AmCham history!!  
 

This year AmCham Estonia joined forces with the U.S. Embassy Tallinn and celebrated its Annual American Independence Day Picnic at the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence in Pirita which was a perfect place for this family style event. More than 430 participants gathered on Sunday, July 4th to enjoy an ample supply of barbequed food, salads, beer, great wine and all the fixings. The band Nine Lives played some old time American rock-n-roll and hilly billy hits and the embassy staff members led many fun family games.

It was the first ever joint Soccer Tournament between the teams from 8 Foreign Chambers in Estonia powered by Sampo Pank. AmCham Estonia was represented by 2 teams: USA 1 and USA 2. Our teams were very determined and won several matches during the playoffs but, unfortunately, did not get into the finals this year.

More than 40 AmCham members and partners gathered at Radisson Blu Hotel on Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 to meet Ambassador Polt who addressed all event participants with a very intresting and timely speech devoted to the future of the American-Estonian relations, business ties and possible developments that could be done in that sphere.

The ninth Melissa Wells Award Winner is Coca-Cola HBC Estonia
The Melissa F. Wells Award for Corporate Citizenship, awarded for the ninth time this year, was given to Coca-Cola HBC Eesti AS in recognition of the company’s work with charities and contribution towards the development of society.
The award was presented at the traditional formal lunch, organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Estonia on May 5th. The award was handed over to Mr. Tomaš Gawlowski, Director General of Coca-Cola HBC Estonia by AmCham Estonia President, Mr. Stefano Grace, and the guest of honor, the Ambassador of the United States of America, Hon. Michael C. Polt, who acknowledged the endeavours of Coca-Cola HBC Estonia.

Live Brazilian music, Samba lessons, wine tasting, hotel tours and limbo contest were just some of the many delights of the April Business After Hours in Ipanema Rodizio Restaurant. The hosts at Unique Hotel Mihkli greeted more than 40 participants that evening with ice-cold caipirinhas, tasty Brazilian food and various meats off the skewers as they showed off their great cozy and family-friendly restaurant in the center of the city.

AmCham Charter Gold Member - Olympic Entertainment Group gathered more than 30 chamber members for a fun poker night at one of the Tallinn casinos in Reval Park Hotel. The evening was very fun and exciting as event participants had a chance to tour the casino, get a professional training from the Olympic Casino Poker Manager, mingle and enjoy drinks & snacks as well as play in the Beginner Tournament and win great prizes!
